Title: A question for Deano and '67 people.
Post by: Brian Rogers on June 06, 2014, 00:06:02 am
If I'm looking at a pile of single port heads, what casting numbers should I look for to be '67 correct? I have the origanal case which is an  H prefix. I don't have all the correct pieces but want as good as I can get. How to ID those part #s. Is there  an online parts list for '67?

The original heads to my '67 have a part number of 311 101 373 A and a big 37 below that.

Brian, I have to agree with the list above. My heads on the '67 vert that I know are originals.... match that list above (311 101 373A). And of course, the case should be a "H". I often go by the VIN/engine list posted on thesamba for a reference to which month they were built. These aren't the best photos, but they were taken by Monkey Nut when the engine came out two years ago for new rings and gaskets.

That works. Thanks all. I'm sure there going to be other '67 specific questions. Gotta start looking for the dizzy and carb strap/ bracket. Any thing else I should be looking for? Bought the car as a basket case. The engine was converted to a dual port. Still have the engine cover and rain shield. Engine tin is in the wind though. Is there another source of info so I don't become an annoyance here? The purpose for the politically correct '67 engine is for when the 1835 breaks, is so I have a back up.
Thanks for your help.
