As I understand thanks to some inside info, these pistons that people are having problems with are not from AA. they are imported into the USA via a company called QSC and then sold on by a third party. This means they have not been through quality control. AA pistons are fine (according to AA). They know about the thread and are monitoring the situation. It is interesting that Marty staggs says something very true, HP parts will not last if you want 300bhp in a VW from them. They are not designed to do 100k like the original engine. |
