Fantastic good investment in combination with T1 lifters, that Thorsten also has. Not lifters or inserts.
Thorsten Pieper sells a couple of other nice stuff like 7075 pushrods, lifters, dry sump pump and CNC TIV heads.....not massive production so the product is very personal and the contact the same. Write to him at thorsten.pieper@gmx.net if you want to know more. I simply warmed each one of my engine blocks halves in my gas BBQ to around 100C according to the ir thermometer, then lifted it in to "my mini mill" or maybe we can call it drill press, prepared with some wooden support to align the block, then drove the lubed inserts in place with a old T1 lifter as drive mandrel. In my case I had no need for any honing. 7 of them ended up with about 2/100 mm play. I call it hydraulic feeling fit. One needed a simple touch with 600 grit paper to feel right. |
