Have the float bowls been opened up to maximum? if not that will help as well

I’m running a similar-ish engine spec to you and using the CB rotary pump.

I have a separate fuel hard line feeding the pump/carbs and my float bowls have been enlarged – never had any problems with fuel starvation on the strip or street.

hi guys thanks for the input

the fuel line from the tank that goes to through the car is bigger than stock think its 8mm but this was done way back in 06 when i first brought the car..so not too sure.. the out let in the  fuel tank is -6an the one cb sells. the needles are still the stock ones that come with the i.d.a's 2.0
the float bowls are stock the only modds to the carbs are 3rd progression hole and jpm 42mm vents and jpm stacks.the fuel lines for the reg and the carbs are all -6an
i had a 2007 with a k8 cam 9\1 com 42\37 heads and never had any fuel problems with the pump set up i have.the reg{holly} never worked too well with  so had the insides taken out so now its just a flash t pice..

so what do you think should i get just the float bowls made bigger ?? or just a bigger pump and reg??? or both...

thanks for your help with this guys..

Get the float bowls done, then you are less likely to run out of fuel to begin with, and also check if the tank still has the stock filter gauze in place, it might be full of crud by now

3.0's wouldn't hurt either.    ;)

I'm running a Mallory 4070LP (super quiet) with no regulator on my IDA'd 2165cc hot street engine. Stock 2.0 needle, float bowls and fuel inlets opened up, AN -6 and 3/8" solid line from tank. I also have Mallory fuel filter, no stock style screen. Fuel pressure is solid at 3.5 pounds at the carb tee.

k-roc i have a pair of the glass needles that jaycee sells think they are 3.0 we could not get them to work on the last motor they just flooded the carbs...

hi richie do you know anyone in the uk that can do this mod??? i am pretty sure the gauze in the tank is long gone as there is the -6 fitting in there now.

cheers andy

thanks for that may look into this pump do you know if you can run a reg with this pump.when you say fuel inlets opened up do you mean the -6 fitting straight into the top??

thanks for your info on this..

Most of the adaptor fittings I have seen or used still need a seal, and alot of people use the stock gauze with seal to work so it might be in there still

Its quite simple to open the float bowl up, if you take the top of and look it has a wall with an extra chamber that is dry, this wall is machined away to open up the float bowl bigger, I will see if I got a before and after pic and post it up if I find them

Yes, AN -6 into tops but the inlets in the carb tops are also drilled out to 5/16" where the fuel screen would go.
