When I used early wide5 T3 drums on my '63 bug, Cogbox Pete machined the snouts for me to allow enough thread to get the locknut on and snugged down......and I had short axles on the '63. 250 you sure New drums are 120. Cylinders are 20 a pair and pads 20 a pair Thats 160.
