Hi, Ive been looking around for a roll cage and came across Ron Lummus bolt in cage, now the bit thats interesting me is how it bolts into the frame horns (no weldin required it states on the web site). I understand the sandwich plates that bolt together through the boot floor and then down to the frame horns, now when the tube reaches the frame horns are these just fitted with some sort of clamp arrangement around the frame horn and slides between the gearbox?

Any pictures of this set-up would be greatly appreciated.

From memory, the cage is bolt in but if you wanted the traction device (ties the cage to the frame horns) this bit DID require welding.

correct -- welded to horns

bolted / plates everywhere else and thru bolted in luggage to frame horns

 and they do fit very nicely

No, I only had the 'show' rear cage, which I removed and sold.

why not buy the chassis from the ultra rat or i am thinking of parting out my jägercar.

Thought I had a picture of the Lumus cage assembled in my Oval, but I don't -- -- ooops -- -- Here is the main hoop with the optional passenger side door bar and the cross bar setback 4 additional inches for my long legs

But the main thing is that once you have the luggage bars in place and bolted in, there is a plate underneath, you're given a short bar that you fab to fit and weld in place to run from the plate to the horn -- you need to have the trans, starter and axles installed so you can avoid any interference problems -- -- it looks pretty close to what is here in my Ghia -- -- I guess you could fab it to bolt to your trans mount or horns so that it could be removed, but I was chasing wheel hop issues in the Oval and wanted everything as solid as possible........

Thats Great! thanks for the Pics, yeh i should be getting the cage in a few weeks, but need to fabricate the tubes to the frame horns.

Did anyone else tie the shock towers into this set up aswell?

i tied my framehorns in to the solid mount bracket at the rear of gearbox as this left enough room to remove the box with shafts/axle tubes on in a swingaxle car
otherwise it would be a real pain to remove box unless irs
