Title: Case boring for 94 p&cs - problem
Post by: qubek on September 10, 2007, 21:11:00 pm
I just got my case bored for 94 p&c's and there is one thing that bothers me. On other cases I've seen in the past the cut made to place cylinders at the same hight was quite deep. The "step" on which a stock cylinder lies disappears completely. On the one I got, it is not cut down completely. Of course it's much thinner then with stock cylinders.
I made some pictures to show the thinnest place.
I don't know, I'm afraid that it is not enough to support the cylinder. On the other hand, I would prefer not to have the case machined again.
What do you think?

It would work , but it is better to cut the surface down 1,5 mm and use spacers under the cylinder

If it should work correctly, then I would leave it as is. The engine will be mild anyway (at least for a while) and I would really like to start the assembly. On the other hand, I don't have time (nor money) to rebuild it again if it brakes :) As always - no straight answer.
Thanks for help

Aye, do it right the first time and get it decked.

deck it. you will have a more stable and wider foundation for wide spacers. hopefuly who ever cuts it there cutters are ultra sharp. if not well they can expect a mag fire when stricking the savers. UD.
