Title: UK Classic Car Insurance with occasional Motorsport - any recommendations Post by: stait9 on October 09, 2015, 11:03:25 am Hi
Having difficulty finding insurance to cover my 1960 Beetle which allows for occasional motorsport use, i.e. drag racing, does anyone have any recommendations for either full insurance or for insurance for drag racing? I'm currently with Adrian Flux and they don't offer anything. I've had a quote for REIS for motorsport cover and it came in at £175 for one event which seems a bit of the steep side. Have just tried Footman James and they stated that none of their underwriters covered occasional motorsports. Would love help as it looks like I'm going to miss the chance to go racing on Saturday :( Cheers Stuart Title: Re: UK Classic Car Insurance with occasional Motorsport - any recommendations Post by: leec on October 09, 2015, 11:09:58 am I use Brentacre insurance for my cars, including the oval which I race. Although I don't have cover for events (like most people I would imagine) they are a great insurance company who is run by car enthusiasts. They may be worth a call as they may offer motorsport coverage, I just haven't asked :)

I'm trying to figure this out but it's a bit weird. I just spoke to one motorsports and track day specialist and got asked the question: it's not Santa Pod is it? I replied no but why? And they explained they won't do cover for Santa Pod because the track is consider not wide enough. Wtf? I presuming if the event has public liability, it's only damage to my car (and myself obviously) that I'm risking? Cheers Stuart |
