Using the Bike trans you might miss not having a reverse gear. This Thunder Roadster has the Hayabusa engine and stock sequential bike trans. 11k rpm and a sequential trans is a hoot and you can get the experience affordably for around $10k. Video of the bike motor buzzing along... https://youtu.be/TzdZ2nPU40k?t=10m37s Title: Re: Bike engined cars Post by: Berger on November 10, 2015, 19:30:44 pm one extreme in the making, sorry Norwegian language only

Surprised he went for a bug as most builds are based on smaller lighter cars My thinking is that there would to be at least a 100kg saving in overall weight in a like for like vw power plant versus bike powered car where both are about the 200 hp mark. Picking the right base car I think a 450 kg 200hp car could be achieved. I have a small bodied project car with a tube chassis that I bought on the strength of a few pictures that is on the way and will assess which way to go when it lands, but very temped by the bike option if only for something a bit different.
