Hello to all!


After posting some questions, it´s really time to introduce myself and the new project:

I´m Stefan from Germany and work on my VW´s since ´ 89. My father helps everytime he can and we have a little crew named “Fulla Groffd Drag Racing Team”. Fulla Groffd is franconion dialect and it stands for “Full Force”.

My first car was and is the green “kraftkaefer” that i drove on the streets and 1994 for the first time on the strip.
11,56sec with this 700kg car was the fastest time in 2012 on the 1/4mile. It should go back to the streets, when the new project is running.

For the meetings and little bit fun on the streets I drive a 1965 Typ 3 Notch with an 2276 Type1 in there.

6 years ago I decided to buy an 1969 ex- circle-track body to build a new race car. I worked on it for a few months and then it stood in the corner until now.

Look on the pictures and you will say: “What the hell is he doing with all this big pipes in there???” I know they´re too much, it´s an Wiechers circle track safety cell in there… You can´t have everything…. I´ll try to loose some weight on me, if the car is to heavy in the end ;-)

For the first "test & tune" we´ll put in the 2,4 typ1 of the green kraftkaefer.

And when shifting and braking works, i have a 3,0l Pauter short block here, that should go in there. With angle flows, 62 Terminators, GRP Aluminium rods.....

In Progress, the Remmele carbon doors with aluminium hinges fit nice.

Damn. Can't believe I missed this car. Awesome!

Exhaust fits now with the Angle Flow heads.
Rear fenders ready for the engine, now it´s time to install the rear wing an do the aluminium parts for the carbs and the engine cover.

Window net ready

Hello!
Progress on the new kraftkaefer :)
- new rear wing is ready
- parachute mounts are ready
- fire system ready
- some ignition parts installed

Only a few things to do now:  ???
- Building the wheelie bar
- Building the engine (50% ready)
- .... and a lot of little things........  ;)

It´s always fun for me to build it nice and have some special details on the car.  :)

Meanwhile the car was on the ground the first time. Wheelie Bar is ready now and some parts have got some paint. Hoping to get the car painted till end of march.

Painted the floor yesterday. Started really bad because some of the green paint came off as i sprayed on the first layer, but ended with an acceptable finish......  ;)

Something is moving forward  :D

nice work but is it heavier than an std bug with all these tubes and bars?  ???

I´m not sure. The cage was made for circle track and i didn´t want to cut some of the bars off.
Material is chrom-moly and some of them are metrical, so they are thinner than the normally used inch ones. Not the best way for a drag car, i know.  ;D

Can I have a source for copper valve seats?

I think that you need some more tubes for a safety of your feet. Like this.

@ 181: got some of CV Products, the other ones from someone on eba.y.
@mikko: that´s right would be better, if the wheel comes inside. Perhaps we put something in there.

We had our first roll out this Weekend and everything worked fine. It was an US-Car and Bike Event with some 1/8 Action without timing.
Very good for some test and tune.  ;D

Yes richie, DDD is firmly planned! I think i could not get the pauter engine ready, so the 2,4 will be in there.

@woud: i don´t know if they were on 924´s. This ones are BBS Motorsport Magnesium rims like BBS E30, but they are E76, 4x100mm.
