I do know that, Dave Mason, Art Gutierrez and Helge Ohmes have one, but who else??? Frank 1st Picture is from Art's "STDRGN" 2 one is from my Incomplete one... Were they for a certain shifter, or just a side option for those guys?
From what I have seen the first roll controls had a very similar switch to the modern day ones Title: Re: Vintage Hurst Line-Lock Switch Topic Post by: RhoadsVW on January 21, 2016, 05:09:50 am The switch in the green car is from the eighties and a more flatter switch with a red button. In this February issue of Hot VW's there is a picture of the shifter with the red line lock button.

From what I have seen the first roll controls had a very similar switch to the modern day ones I'm far from the most knowledgeable on this but I did see on the side of an NOS Hurst line lock box a picture of these switches and their part number so I'm assuming just an accessory for round shaft shifters. Title: Re: Vintage Hurst Line-Lock Switch Topic Post by: Taylor on January 21, 2016, 08:54:57 am Frank, would you be so kind as to open up your switch base and take some pictures? I have a fried who has been working making me a duplicate with his 3D printer so I don't have to open my NOS one.

OC1967vw says he found 2 NOS ones in less than 24 hours after he tried to buy mine. He's going to post the pictures I asked him to. Maybe he wants to sell one to someone!!!

The Main Body is out of the Clyde Berg racecar Red Switch came from Art Gutierrez And to get the backplate i had to buy a Berg Shifter...on the Samba which had one on it... So, I have a Spare main body without the red switch incase you are interested...!!! But This switch is actually made to fit HURST trigger style shifter. No for T-handle. |
