Hi Bad Bug,

Not actually the answer you are looking for but I have to ask, is there actually any need to through bolt a WBX case? We have guys that push 1000hp using a WBX case without through bolting it.

Yeah is that the skinne beetle.

Yes indeed it is and that says something about the quality of that case. VW used all their knowledge from the mag case and improved all the weak points and made it a lot stronger. It is a very good case!

I am thinking about using it in a 4 inch bore engine i want to do but there are other considerations before i go ahead with purchasing stuff like if there will be adequate cooling between the cylinders for this daily driven engine.

Does anyone know if Skinne had done a all t4 main on the 86mm crank in his engine.

Seems like the Chrysler RB bearings ( 2.75mm ) would be a nice match for a 411 all main crank. Will have to check on the width of the bearing. Has anyone other than skinne done this to there block.

Max as i said earlier and now confirmed by pauter site chrysler bearing is similar to the t4 mains. See section in green.

90-1000-C   Pauter Super Pro Big Block - Chrysler
Main journal bores accept OEM Chrysler bearings which fit the VW Type IV main journal cranks, with slight modification to thrust width.
5pc 356-T6 aluminum block assy with bolts, nuts.  Specify bore size and cylinder stud pattern desired    (studs not included).

Max there is more. We know now that the chrysler main is a 2.75 similar to the t4/411 vw engine but the bearing thickness is a bight more. This would mean then that it's not truly a direct drop in and the case would need boring for this.

I was on youtube this morning watching a chrysler build and the guy quoted the thickness of the chrysler bearing as .0934 inches.

Can see that he is using a dry sump oiling system on the engine. Would love to see more of this engine.
