Title: Broken Lash Cap Post by: neil68 on May 15, 2016, 01:09:07 am Been running a set of Scat lash caps for many years. First time out at the track last night and one broke while shifting into fourth. It looks like they're cast...is there any other type? What's a quality brand to replace these? Stay with Scat or try another? Thanks.

I use G Berg when you could get them. Now I use CB Performance. Title: Re: Broken Lash Cap Post by: dangerous on May 16, 2016, 22:53:22 pm 99/100 broken lash caps are from loss of valve control,
1/100 are from too tight a fit on the stem. I have never seen a Scat lash cap that was tight. I just put the engine back together after checking the bearings and replacing valve springs, but perhaps I didn't have the lash correct at that valve. I use loose zero lash with dual-tapered aluminum pushrods.
