looking to up grade my electric fuel pump as the ol cb 3.5lb is not up to the job as its not keeping up with the carbs.was looking at getting a mallory with areomotive reg or something along those lines. motor is 2276cc clay smith cam like fk89 44/37 heads not sure the compression 10/1.. 48 i.d.a's any advice would be very good thanks for looking andy Title: Re: electric fuel pump advice Post by: leec on May 25, 2016, 06:54:32 am I run a cb pump with very similar motor spec. Why do you think it's not keeping up with the carbs?

My friend and I have tested it at the Autobahn… ;D 140mph with 3.0 Needle Valves and enlarged float bowls.

The float bowl mod is merely opening the well that looks like another accelerator pump well to gain a few more cc's of fuel storage. I have used Holley fuel pressure regulators with no problems , in fact I have one on my turbo car now . Make sure your fuel tank vent system is working properly also. Title: Re: electric fuel pump advice Post by: andy54 on May 29, 2016, 13:55:16 pm thanks guys for the info.the old reg is now just a flash t pice as the cb pump i think has a built in reg.my fuel tank in the car is a stock 54oval tank with the 100mm cap so thats the only vent is there.
so you would say leave the pump at just get the float bowels made bigger??? cheers andy |
