Title: Link pin or ball joint for short chassis
Post by: Rocket Ron on June 03, 2016, 21:49:30 pm
Just looking for some feed back on if I should go with a link pin or ball joint front end.

Chassis wheelbase is short just under 80" and wondered if anyone had suggestions on which one to use on such a short chassis. Any advantages / disadvantages for either ?

Race use only

Thanks in advance

Ron

Ron, drag racing I take it you mean? I would stay link pin every time then, for circuit racing or track days, a ball joint wins on better trailing arm rigidity, it's a lot of work changing frame heads just to go ball joint, also the link pin is better for running very low.

Thanks for he feedback. What particulay makes the link pin better for straight lining over the ball joint spanners ? I notice most of the tube chassis car run link beam or strange struts

.
