Title: transmission jig
Post by: nicolas on June 13, 2016, 19:27:48 pm
hey,

i am rebuilding a transmission, but i don't have a transmission jig to set up the shiftforks correctly, trail and error are fun for a while, but with a jig things could be getting better quicker. i am for now looking for a type1 jig, maybe a type2 will be needed later on.
so anyone with a jig collecting dust on the shelf, please let me know.
i am located in Belgium.

other tools for rebuilding a transmission are considered as well.

please PM me

One of the best Jigs I ever used was one I made out of a stock case. Cut out a big U on each side of the tranny case and cut off the bell housing . It works perfectly . Mike McCarthy

Here is a link to one for sale ,   http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=566723

yeah… i might just do that, but i would only use a 'bad' case that has the studs or so pulled. not a good one.

cad plans for a plate work for me as well. i should be able to machine one no problem.
