i am thinking about narrowing my beam on my racer

I'm not a big fan of heavily narrowed frontbeams. In my opinion it's a resto cal thing. Of course it's mandatory to narrow your frontbeam to avoid a wider track if you run disc brakes, dropped spindles and stuff like that. But it shouldn't ruin the stance. Some cars look like trikes, because their frontbeams are way too narrow. So 2" or 3" should be enough, depending on your setup (brakes, wheel et...)

I'm with you Luftkraft, narrow beams out of necessity, not for looks... some cars even makes me think about the tractors in Bugs bunny  ;D
But we all like different things... so, do what you want to do!

 Maybe a bit boring, but I'm also with Luftkraft...
 If a narrowing a front beam is only for the looks, then don't. Apart from it being ugly, it will also change your steering geometry...

 In the Netherlands we've nicknamed those cars "shopping carts" because they look, ride and steer the same...  ;D

From a pure handling point of view,narrowing the front track is absolutely the wrong way to go. If you get out of shape in a straight line or in a turn its a lot harder to save the car if the front track is narrower than the rear track .Regards Richard Australia
