Title: not out of the woods yet! more engine wouw's Post by: nicolas on October 01, 2007, 11:06:36 am i looks like there is a different problem on the car... i switched the 019 for a differenent one and and fired it up again. the engine was not comlpletely tuned as it run rich with the new vents, but i can't reach higher rpms when i drive it. by just hitting the trottle without load on the engine it responds ok, but when i drive it it seems to make a little soggy, squishy sound that there wasn't before... :( i am a bit worried now, but i will check compression and i guess i will have to take the engine out and have it all cleaned up and checked.
i looked at the pushrodtubes and no bent one there, but i haven't opened the valvecovers yet. maybe i can get around it this week. Title: Re: not out of the woods yet! more engine wouw's Post by: alex d on October 01, 2007, 11:13:36 am what jetting do you have now?
Title: Re: not out of the woods yet! more engine wouw's Post by: nicolas on October 01, 2007, 12:27:57 pm 117 main 200 air and the 52 idles, but i guess they cause it to be rich or there is a problem at one cylinder not functioning... that causes the rich, black smoke. i will install the 50 idles again and start it, i also found someone with a CR - meter who will check the CR on the engine.
