Title: Re: Street weight ERCO's how much tyre pressure Post by: chateau la fete on October 16, 2016, 16:37:10 pm No worries, thanks
I currently run around 22 front and 26 rear, tubeless. I have problems loosing air over a period of time, so am going to use inner tubes Title: Re: Street weight ERCO's how much tyre pressure Post by: Neil Davies on October 16, 2016, 21:12:35 pm No worries, thanks I currently run around 22 front and 26 rear, tubeless. I have problems loosing air over a period of time, so am going to use inner tubes I used tubes in my race weight ones with no problems. On my Saco bolt together front wheels I sealed the two halves together with a 2" wide tape, very much like a really sticky electrical tape and that cured a slow leak that one had. After Eric drills the bolt pattern, he lays a large bead of sealant in the groove where the two halves meet. Maybe yours has degraded. You could just dig out the old and lay down some new.Title: Re: Street weight ERCO's how much tyre pressure Post by: Fiatdude on October 17, 2016, 06:37:16 am No -- you're wrong there -- those rims are drilled and sealed a CMS -- You can buy the halves, but I never heard of Eric bolting them together -- -- you can cure that leak with a thick silicon or break them apart clean them and re-silicon them -- CMS uses about a half of a caulking tube size of silicon per rim........ But like anything, silicon will fracture from flexing on a street rim...
Title: Re: Street weight ERCO's how much tyre pressure Post by: chateau la fete on October 17, 2016, 09:45:00 am I agree, the bead has probably de graded some what.
For the use the car gets and only currently running on the street then I'm thinking inner tubes should not be a problem, only a bit of extra weight!! May help the ERCO's a bit, what with the amount of pot holes in this country!! Although CMS makes them for Eric, the wheels they sell may be finished differently. I never heard of Eric bolting them together either. Where did you hear that? |
