Title: Dip stick tube plug
Post by: Mike P on January 20, 2017, 20:03:14 pm
I've got a new universal case that is the base for a new 2007 for a notchback.  I was wondering if anyone had an idea as to the best way to plug the dipstick tube for T-3 application.  I was thinking about cutting it as close to the case as possible and tapping it for a pipe plug, but it's a little on the small side for 1/8" NPT plug .  What are your guy's thoughts on how to eliminate or plug off the dip stick tube.  Thanks in advance.

Mike

Tap it for a metric M8 grub screw?

hold on! why not just put on a rubber hose with two clamps and a piece of 8mm round bar (even a screw works), that way you can later use it as a type1 unmodified…

it's what i did to mine.

I've already got 2 other Type 1 universal cases (1 STF case, 1 built into a 2276) so I'm not really that worried about a "permanent" modification.  The plugged hose and clamp way did cross my mind I was just trying to find something else.
