Title: Type 4 engine problem Post by: Nisse1 on March 01, 2017, 22:25:04 pm The problem is my 82mm stroke Scat crankshaft. The Scat rods hit the JPM cam lob. To solve the problem we should make a new camshaft and use Pauter rocker arm 1:1,48. Now, I can't faind any Pauter rocker arms but I got a tip, use old Pauter rocker arms with needle roller bearings. I need help!
Best regards Chrille (member just now!) Title: Re: Type 4 engine problem Post by: mikko k on March 02, 2017, 05:16:40 am Grind the end of rods and then balance the rods.
Title: Re: Type 4 engine problem Post by: Elnef on March 02, 2017, 18:58:06 pm Is the cam made on 1" basecircle ?
I run with pauter light rod with them there is more space Title: Re: Type 4 engine problem Post by: Torben Alstrup on March 03, 2017, 20:40:00 pm What rod bearing journal?
As John asks, what cam base cirkel? Title: Re: Type 4 engine problem Post by: Nisse1 on March 04, 2017, 13:57:16 pm Its chevy, I'm not shore about The basecircle. It's made by JP Motorsport. Our plane is to make The basecircle a little bit smaller and then grind The end of the rods.
Title: Re: Type 4 engine problem Post by: Torben Alstrup on March 04, 2017, 19:53:45 pm Replace the Scat rods with CB rods and their ARP2000 bolts. - Or at least try with one. Just maybe that will give you enough clearance. its worth a try.

Don't use CB rods in a type4 engine. They need too much space Udo Title: Re: Type 4 engine problem Post by: Torben Alstrup on March 10, 2017, 22:08:55 pm [attachment=1]I would highly recommend light Pauter rods . The Pauter ones are even slimmer, yes.Don't use CB rods in a type4 engine. They need too much space Udo T |
