Title: found some more response from the motor:
Post by: Jim Ratto on October 06, 2007, 22:51:18 pm
Did some minor service stuff to the car today. Noticed throttle response had gotten a little lazy. Checked timing, wasn't advancing consistently. Further checking showed the little waxy pads under advance weights had worn away to nothing. The weights were sticky too. So anyway, I just locked the distributor, set it @ 30 deg and ran it. Big difference from idle on up. Nice to do something so easy and get a nice result.

Have you tried a hot start locked out yet? You may not like it.

Plug in a MSD start retard if you don't like it locked.

yeah, few times today. My ignition box isn't on the starter circuit (box and fuel pump is on separate switch) so I crank motor, then fire ignition. When I ran a Vertex locked, I had to do same thing.

Never had much luck with the MSD dizzy, Just tryed the electromotive crank triger system, you get to dial in an advance curve, rev limiter (launch limiter if you want as well) and it fires wasted spark as well. and its cheeper. Oh and it fires for 60deg of crank rotation.

take a look,
