Title: is this worth saving? Post by: nicolas on October 08, 2007, 10:01:21 am i ran across a 1300 67 the other day. the fenders are gone and the doors start to look like a swiss cheese, but the floorpan is decent. the biggest issue i found was that the inner doormount, the pillar where the hinges attach to is dented on the inside. it is the pillar that ends in the dash. can this be replaced. and how hard is it to get innerwings and repairpannels for a bug? i am not buying it yet as it will be a lot of work to get it going. it is basicly a shell with hood and lid. a 1300 engine and a trans, not sure what the condion is of both. but how much is this worth? maybe i can get it cheap enough and help someone who needs parts... i am not sure about this, but maybe it is good enough to store it and build a racecar out of it...
thanks nicolas Title: Re: is this worth saving? Post by: Neil Davies on October 08, 2007, 10:40:11 am Got to be worth rescuing if it's cheap enough and you've got the space. Even if you chop it up for parts it's better than it returning to mother earth by itself! :)
Title: Re: is this worth saving? Post by: nicolas on October 08, 2007, 10:59:30 am it is said to be 1000 euros... that is not much if there are enough parts, but it is just a shell really and some parts. doorhandles and so on are missing and expensive to buy afterwards.
maybe the price can get down. Title: Re: is this worth saving? Post by: lowfastbus on October 09, 2007, 18:55:26 pm Hi Nicolas,
Would'nt personally give 1000 for a rotten incomplete 67... I paid 1500 for mine, and it was complete, and only a little rotten... Title: Re: is this worth saving? Post by: nicolas on October 10, 2007, 06:38:44 am i know... it is a bit steep at this price, but maybe i can get the price down a little. but it is that i want to do a lot of work on the fastback (bigger engine, maybe new trans, get thigs finished properly and so on) but a 67 doesn't come along everyday. so i had to ask. i will try to get in though with the owner and see what he really wants for it. and maybe get some pics...
