Title: new idea with the GB dipstick, well maybe... Post by: oval57 on October 08, 2007, 21:14:06 pm I have a Gene Berg dipstick temp gauge. At £18 and no gauge to clutter my dash i'm happy with it. Ish. Have you ever used one of these to check you oil? its not good. Gold anodised with fresh oil and the wire gets caught on the alternator... it's a mess.
I'm thinking of running a T3 dipstick convertor in my AS41 and modding it to poke out near my main dipstick tube. Thus runnign a stock dipstick and the GB temp in the T3 tube. Should work you think? In the Slingle Cab the GB227 is mounted in the old Treuhaft sump- older sumps have a built in threaded boss.
On a side note, I believe the oil temp sending unit should be mounted in the sump- oil is at its hottest temperature there, and the the hottest temp is what you want to know.
