Post by: Erlend / bug66 on August 20, 2017, 19:54:24 pm
Is there a good thread out there?

Alunimium house I presume..

Big or small gussets?
Steel plates and bolts to hold the side plates?

Wow that's some breakage :o
Been reading up on t2 boxes as they are stronger. What is the set up of the car?

Might be time to step up to a bus box. I'm sure Richie will be along shortly, but he was in a similar place back in the early '00's and he did a box virtually identical to yours.
It does mean IRS, but thats no bad thing really!

For this you need a bus box with folts or rancho axles. We just got one from rancho. Complete with IRS to swing axles

Does Folts axles handle 400-500 ft.lbs to the tires and sub 1,4 60-foot times?

And I've got a lot of swingaxle spares, so not really keen on going IRS..

What were you using to control ring & pinion movement?

Is there such a thing available as a staged lock-up clutch (like on my bike......  http://www.mtceng.com/index.php/technical-information/7-clutch-differences  )?

Rev6. It's actually more similar to a gen2 multistage than a lockup or multistage  as the weights are on the engine side of the clutch, not the input shaft side.
