Title: Fuel regulator problem Post by: big d chop on April 29, 2018, 12:18:07 pm I’m using a Holley blue fuel pump and a Holley fuel regulator on my 2165 N/A engine but for some reason my regulator won’t adjust down it staying between 13 & 15, I’ve tried another new Holley regulator but have the same issue.
What regulator are people using or any suggestions what it could be. The blue pump works, but the regulator range is too high for IDAs. The regulator with the blue pump is 4-1/2 to 9 psi. The regulator with the red pump is 1-4 psi. Make sure you pull the rubber plug on your pressure gauge (if its liquid filled), that will calibrate it to your altitude.
All that said I'm not a fan of the dead head regulator. I had already run a second fuel line, so I switched to the aeromotive X1, which is a return style regulator. It can be used low pressure for carb applications, or the guys can be swapped out and run at high pressure for fuel injection. Easy to install, easy to adjust and easy to rebuild if necessary.
