Title: help - gicleur - 1776cc - solex 40 kadron Post by: rafaelzampieri on October 12, 2018, 14:16:52 pm good afternoon, I would like the help on which gicleur (jets) to use.
I'm putting together a pair of solex 40 eis kadron and I needed help with the gicleur/jets to use. My engine is a 1776cc, with w110, Heads cb 044, 40x35,5, with rocker 1.25, 8 per 1 rate, petrol, with exhaust 1 5/8. Which gicleur/jets measurement should I use as a main and slow injector, floa, needle? in addition, some modification do you advise? Thanks Very much Title: Re: help - gicleur - 1776cc - solex 40 kadron Post by: Martin S. on October 12, 2018, 15:50:57 pm I think I ran 130/60 main and idle. I had Mr. Kadron re-bush the throttle bushings with sealed bearings and installed ball needle valves from Gene Berg. The dual port manifolds were ported into the heads and the stock valve heads were ported by Mick Wooten.
A huge improvement in idle smoothness came when we switched the manifold balance pipe to a larger diameter, similar to the one used on a carbed Type 4 powered bus rather than the 7mm fuel injection hose supplied in most kadron kits. The way to get a Kadron engine to idle on all 4 cylinders is to remove the wall between the runners of the manifold almost all the way to the head. All of the available manifolds were designed by people who know individual runner carburation and don't understand the need for a plenum. Title: Re: help - gicleur - 1776cc - solex 40 kadron Post by: Bruce on October 17, 2018, 08:20:45 am When you switched to a larger balance pipe, you increased the plenum. By cutting away the wall in the manifold, you can toss the silly balance hose.

Title: Re: help - gicleur - 1776cc - solex 40 kadron Post by: Bruce on October 18, 2018, 08:23:38 am They had no height to play with. They couldn't make a plenum big enough if they tried.
Look at a V8 with a single 4bbl carb on a manifold with a giant toilet bowl under it. Volume is needed in the plenum. Title: Re: help - gicleur - 1776cc - solex 40 kadron Post by: Martin S. on October 18, 2018, 15:14:39 pm Interesting. That would be good to try OP.
