The Cal-look Lounge

Like the title says guys I have been looking at old skool VW based race car transporters and i was wondering if anyone knew of any others  ??? ??? ???

This was built by my friend Randy back in the 70's.
It has a Porsche 911 6 cylinder engine.
 

Now that what I'm talking about  ;D that is a COOL Rig - I want to build one eventually to put the manx on the back of and tow my Cal Looker behind, You see if I put the Manx on the back I only have to lenthen the truck a small amount :)

You would need some serious torque to haul a load like that!

It's OK, Monkiboy's all torque anyway...  ;D

Yep I could torque the hind legs off a donkey  - only if its about Race Trim stuff though  ;) :)

As for POWER I was thinking about a Corvair lump with 4 carbs - Any thoughts  ???

Keep it VW... monster type 4  ;)

Now thats not very 70's is it ;) :)

The Empi single cab did use a Corvair engine !

As for the Empi pick up I have also been wondering who brought it - I did hear a rumor it was on its way to the UK (and NOT scotland :o)

You have given me some REALLY COOL ideas for my truck dude - I love the hydraulic ram idea  ;D ;D ;D

i don't know lee , but i've in my cal look cave the hot wvs , vw trends ,vw greats , super vw , volksworld ,and now ultra vw ;D ;D

does anyone have any more on this AWSOME bit of kit  ??? :)

I remember when that empi-built single cag hauler was for sale on Samba a couple years ago. I really wanted it but didn't have the money nor a logical reason to buy it.

what are the motor specs on the rennstall bunker cab?  and what rails do they use to get the car down?  must be long...  awesome ideas tho!!!

All theese 3 cars belong to sweedish race driver Harald Kronegaard from Stockholm.
The race was calles "KANONLOPPET", translated to canonrun:-)
