Title: 70's Bug In Photos
Post by: louisb on November 06, 2007, 20:05:19 pm
Someone posted these on the Samba. (Anyone here?) Check out all the splits. The one on Porsche rims looks sweet. Couple of them look to have aftermarket performance mufflers.

Gary, scan them and host them in shutterfly.com and you don't need to resize them! :)

What a timely post...........

In the fourth photo from the top (the one after Shaky's), the one with the caption "some of Russ Welch's split windows", we just moved the 51' standard in that photo from Russ' house in Ojai, to my shop in Irwindale.  It has a great history and we are really trying hard to get it done for 33.  Long shot, but not impossible.  It was taken off the streets in '78, after the 2180 blew another transmission.........
Sat until the late eighties, got painted and has been under cover since then.

Thanks for the photos Ron (if you are lurking), and let this be a motivator for some of the other great cars that are waiting to be done.  I can't wait until April to see them, and the old and new great friends in this hobby.  Hope to meet some of the Euro contingency as well.

It's the weekend.........get building!

Been in touch with Ron/Geezer and his reply was this:

"There used to be some posted at Cal Look.com I guess he got tired of them. Glad you are writing a book or whatever. I really have no time now. I wanted to share the photos with everyone. Glad you enjoyed them.
Geezer"
