Where do I plug in for the VDO Tach to get the signal ? I did it on my 54 oval but cant remember how i did it. I briefly had a Don Zig magneto in my '67 and I bought a converter from Autometer.

Frenchy Title: Re: Magneto on my 66 Post by: jay c on July 28, 2019, 18:34:30 pm Hi Frenchy. I have a VDO tach like yours but 8000 rpm and on the back it is switchable between 2,4,6 and 8 cylinders. I found that using it with my magneto it read at half the rpm that it should so I switched it to the 2 cylinder setting and it reads correct. It’s a little jumpy but the right rpm

It has been to hot here in Arizona 112 to drive the car unless you do in the early morning hours. I also polished it by hand and installed a new tag and a new cap. Next will be the plug wires and to hook up the converter near the tach. I think you would be fine with 16 gauge, 14 gauge if you want to be on the save side.
