Title: a quick aluminium beam question..... Post by: jick on November 15, 2007, 23:31:47 pm the adjustable Jamar ones that quite a few USA stockists supply.....
are they adjustable to give a 4" drop? or is it different becauase they're usually on sand rails or whatever..... any of you US guys know? cheers........jick. But if you insist, JT will build you anything you want, narrowed, wider, adjustable, with or without shock towers.

Title: Re: a quick aluminium beam question..... Post by: ALIEN on November 16, 2007, 22:04:46 pm aluminium beams on street cars are not good It will maybe work better without that coilover... or im i wrong? Alien Title: Re: a quick aluminium beam question..... Post by: Lanny Hussey on November 17, 2007, 03:36:17 am Coil overs on a beam? That's why it broke IMHO.
Title: Re: a quick aluminium beam question..... Post by: gibber! on November 17, 2007, 14:03:30 pm They look like coil overs off a honda moped.... if so, there's not much pressure behind them (not enough to break a beam!).
Title: Re: a quick aluminium beam question..... Post by: jick on November 17, 2007, 14:27:38 pm thanks for the info on the JT options......
i've kinda changed my plans now anyway, and will use the stock beam that i have..... i had a Jamar beam that i was gonna get the adjusters put in , but i got too good an offer for it last week at a swapmeet and let it go, i was gonna use the cash to replace it with an adjustable one, but to be honest i think it'll make more sense for me to put the cash towards actually getting the car on the road.... interesting input though guys.....worrying photo... :o Title: Re: a quick aluminium beam question..... Post by: nicolas on November 17, 2007, 15:16:54 pm by the looks of the car and the person posting it, it seems like "dangerine" had some suspensionproblems. so that is a very light car and i guess in a regular roadcar the beam would have failed sooner or later and could have had some serious problems.
Title: Re: a quick aluminium beam question..... Post by: ALIEN on November 17, 2007, 15:55:52 pm But if you ar putting an alu beam on a street car, you have the opotunity to drill a hole in the frame under the gas thank, and use a longer bolt...
Alien Title: Re: a quick aluminium beam question..... Post by: lee-maynard on November 18, 2007, 15:52:33 pm I believe the beam on dangerine is a jt with cast ali towers, alot weaker than the jamar billet ones.
Title: Re: a quick aluminium beam question..... Post by: jick on November 18, 2007, 16:21:56 pm i'd go along with that lee, that's why i was asking specifically about the Jamar ones, of which the adjustable ones only give a 3" raise by the way..... ::)
