Title: Re: Next Post by: Neil Davies on July 01, 2021, 06:45:40 am You can't just put pictures up like that with no explanation! It might not be cal look, but it certainly is interesting!
Title: Re: Next Post by: DeathBySnuSnu on July 01, 2021, 18:25:00 pm So.....whatcha wanna know?
It is a VW Vokaro. I have put a lot of tubing on it....scared of getting run over....it is so small/short. It has a little 2.5L V6. Double over, 4 per. A screamer....not high HP. Box is a 901 5 speed. Rear suspension is IRS Front suspension is ball joint beam. Title: Re: Next Post by: DeathBySnuSnu on July 04, 2021, 13:51:58 pm Working on the front end now.
As I have drop spindles, adjusters, a pie cut, and a body drop (moved Napoleon hat)....…even with 23 inch diameter tires it was a lot of cutting to make the car fit. [attachment=1] Title: Re: Next Post by: DeathBySnuSnu on July 04, 2021, 13:53:44 pm ...
Title: Re: Next Post by: DeathBySnuSnu on July 04, 2021, 13:58:04 pm Trying to make a wide body look.
Of course they will be glassed in and smoothed out.....not screwed to the body. [attachment=1] Title: Re: Next Post by: DeathBySnuSnu on July 04, 2021, 13:59:11 pm [attachment=1]

Title: Re: Next Post by: DeathBySnuSnu on July 05, 2021, 02:09:18 am Not very cal look is it? Well..... If you don't count.....Riverside, Sonoma, Laguna Seca.....then no it is not much like cars in California. Title: Re: Next Post by: DeathBySnuSnu on May 05, 2022, 04:29:19 am [attachment=1]
Title: Re: Next Post by: Airspeed on May 16, 2022, 14:11:17 pm Interesting engine and even more so the intake manifolds.
From which VW car came this 2,5 ltr V6 engine? Title: Re: Next Post by: Lingwendil on May 18, 2022, 15:55:30 pm Mazda.
Title: Re: Next Post by: DeathBySnuSnu on May 22, 2022, 19:46:56 pm Somebody has seen a KL before.
The internet lore has Porsche as the engineer for hire that designed the original. This one in the pics is a later model engine used in Mazda's MX series cars (as opposed to the RX rotary series). So the engine is Mazda The trans is Porsche The chassis is mostly mid engine dune buggy kit (unwelded) The suspension is VW And the body is a Vokaro made in California. Not that it's a bad looking car at the moment, but it screams vintage race car to me!
Title: Re: Next Post by: DeathBySnuSnu on September 20, 2022, 00:56:56 am I dunno.....not a big fan of brm's.
They do look good sometimes. These are early 80's Enkie ultralight racing series 17 x 7's I came across them and liked them. But .... It is supposed to have a late 50's....early 60's race car look.....think 550 Spyder up to the 904/906 cars. So steelies would be the correct wheel for it. It is going to be painted period race car style .... Lots of red and silver....,but then I don't like silver and it might be white and red...... Title: Re: Next Post by: Glauco on September 20, 2022, 07:43:51 am I would love to see this car finished. Not callook by a long shot, but very cool none the less! Will this be a racecar or will you use it on the street with some kind of interior?
Title: Re: Next Post by: DeathBySnuSnu on September 29, 2022, 00:32:29 am Body physically designed and manufactured in California.
Yes it will be street driven and it is barely street legal by it's year of manufacture. But......the modern comforts never existed. No doors No windows No roof No power brakes No power steering No air conditioning No heat No dashboard No instruments (other than a large race tach) It does have 4 wheel disc brakes and six point harness and double loop roll cage added. And has the normal brake/tail lights, hi/low headlights, dot windshield and wipers. It has been registered to me since 1977 when I got it heavily used.
