Title: GNRS! Post by: Sarge on February 10, 2022, 12:30:36 pm Hey guys... it's been a while! Thought I'd try to post up a few pics from the recent Grand National Roadster Show. First though, it was a HUGE HONOR to have VW's showcased at this event... just the BEST! The whole thing kicked off on a Wednesday afternoon in the parking lot of the Fairplex in Pomana with the "Drive-In for those of us lucky enough to have a car inside Building 9. Sharon and I arrived at 3:30 pm to several long lines of waiting cars and eventual bedlam. We finally got into the building and set up around 7:30 pm; our only beef! Past all that drama, the next four days were a dream come true...

I've been impressed with how strong the Cal Look showing was, given the breadth of the VW scene, our little corner of it had quite a few strong contenders. In the end, it was well worth it! There were also two nice VW builds that vied for the Slonaker Award this year. The second car is a Buddy Hale number; SWEET!!

"A Gathering of Hot VWs" the show within a show, building #9, one of Hot VW/Cal Look/Aircooled finest moments(weekends). Saturday Drive-In with particular attention to the Volkswagens parked between the buildings was pretty sweet as well.
