Title: New Product for the EFI guys..... need feedback......thanks. Post by: Martin on November 21, 2007, 20:49:11 pm After messing about with EFI for years, i have come up with, what i think is a solution for the crank trigger. I made a few years ago but you had to remove the trigger to take the belt off, not ideal.
Take a look at my new setup and let me know what you think... Belt off (http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d18/autocraft/21112007143.jpg) Belt on (http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d18/autocraft/21112007145.jpg) (http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d18/autocraft/21112007146.jpg) (http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d18/autocraft/21112007147.jpg) I have machined the customers Berg pully for his application. I have made a fixture for machining the pulleys so they will all come out the same. Or you can buy one of mine ready done ;) Title: Re: New Product for the EFI guys..... need feedback......thanks. I have a Jaycee crank trigger that I bought used and never used just because it isnīt possible to use with a fan belt. Title: Re: New Product for the EFI guys..... need feedback......thanks. Post by: james wotton on November 21, 2007, 21:30:17 pm I've got the first one of these it uses a ford zetec trigger. Martin said to set my timing to 68 deg it was spot on.
thanks martin. Title: Re: New Product for the EFI guys..... need feedback......thanks. Post by: Fasterbrit on November 21, 2007, 23:13:48 pm Looking tasty Trailer. Can you make one to fit a WBX? ;)

Post by: drgouk on November 30, 2007, 09:17:36 am Hi, you should make your bracket to fit a honeywell gt101 hall sender, quite a popular sensor with the aussie ecu's., also can you do them with only 2 trigger ponits, 180° degrees apart, 60° before tdc?, its for a autronic ecu.
Here is my jaycee bracket that i modified, its adjustable. Title: Re: New Product for the EFI guys..... need feedback......thanks. I could make the bracket fit the honeywell sensor, just a matter of getting hold of one. but seeing as its a Hall effect sensor you'll still be able to use the ford unit. Yes i can cut pulleys in any cofigeration you require, the fixture i have made index's on the keyway so i can place the slots how every you want. As for an adjustable bracket, that just sounds like a problem waiting to happen. Once the timing as been set on the ecu you shouldnt have to 'adjust' the sensor to make corrections. Can you not 'tell' theAutronics ecu's the placment of the trigger? Can i ask why your using a dizzy? Ive got a friend using the Autronics stuff, it looks very good. Hi, The honeywell sensor is one that autronic and motec reccomend and its available from most electronic stores, yes you probably coulduse the ford sensor you have. Yes the adjustable bracket is not the best idea if the sensor comes loose. As it is the type of thing, once set it never need to be re visted. The distributor is a msd dist with the magnetic reluctor sensor removed and a golf mk 2 hall sensor fitted in its place, it triggers only at tdc on number 1. I could have gone waste spark, but i wanted the look. The ecu fires the msd 6a box. Can you do power pulley size? David Title: Re: New Product for the EFI guys..... need feedback......thanks. Post by: drgouk on December 11, 2007, 10:10:32 am Darren,
They are cb ida manifolds. They are 50mm jenvey throttle bodies, I made the linkage arms out of berg ida and the jenvey ones. Were'nt you going to run jenvey throttle bodies? Title: Re: New Product for the EFI guys..... need feedback......thanks. Post by: K-Roc on December 11, 2007, 17:35:43 pm Hi Dave, Nice looking set up BTW, yes I have been running Jenvey 48mm IDF bodies for about 4 years now, The reason I asked the question about the manifolds is that on my IDF bodies the CB manifolds I have make the Bodies sit with the fuel rails outboard, Due to the wide stud spacing being on the outboard side of the manifolds ( which is correct if you use IDF carbs) But not with the T-bodies.... Bruce made up some Carb-Turn a-rounders ( adapter plates ) for me.
In your case things with the IDA style bodies works out perfectly. I'm changing to the latest Megasquirt brain this winter and also making a few other small ;) changes to the drive train this year... My goal for 2008 is to get into the 10's on 94 octane, in full 1900 lb trim... ( I have to knock off 1/2 a second of my current ET. to make it happen) Cheers. Title: Re: New Product for the EFI guys..... need feedback......thanks. Post by: Peter on December 11, 2007, 22:46:01 pm thats cool darren,
I was thinking of using adapters as well.. do you have a pic of your setup? thanks! Title: Re: New Product for the EFI guys..... need feedback......thanks. Post by: K-Roc on December 12, 2007, 06:03:09 am Here is what the Jenveys look like with the adapters on a CB, IDF to Comp Eliminator manifold.
Thanks, K-Roc Title: Re: New Product for the EFI guys..... need feedback......thanks. Post by: folkevogn on December 12, 2007, 08:21:45 am Like the lenght of the intake and stacks combined with the throttlebodies, it looks right 8)
Title: Re: New Product for the EFI guys..... need feedback......thanks. Post by: boxertje on December 17, 2007, 12:55:17 pm same idea, but taller to make room for NOS in the future.Manifolds are also german IDF reworked for street Eliminators.
