Ratio Rockers Which Brand's are the Best for the Street or the Track? Which Do You Perfer Needle Bearing Rockers or Plain Bushing Rorkers Which Ratio Rockers Last Longer? ( Bearing or Bushing?)  What is Your Personal Experience with Ratio Rockers?

I have never ever had a problem with Scat's.  I think bushing is stronger, and I've heard of broken needle bearings, but my budget has never allowed me to experiment- so I stick with what I know works- Scat.

I've seen a ton of broken ones and pairs with sloppy loose needles. Scat's seem to last forever. I've also heard good stuff about CB's but I've never run a set. I prefer bushing rockers.

Steve

Have you ever messured the ratio  ? I had one that was from 1,3 - 1,5 on one set . The best are Gene Bergs in my opinion . Pauters have the correct ratios too.

The earlier Scat rockers seemed to vary from set to set. The "New" style (with the scat logo on the rocker) have checked out right on spec.

My old motor had new scats (with the circle around "scat") and measured out 1.42, my new motor has old scats and measured out to 1.5

Berg's are too much money for me and my empty pockets.  Especially when I've never had a problem with the Scats.

I have run lot's of set's of the CB ones , the ratio's are very very close , and they are excellent quality .

The Scat's are also very strong , but the ratio's are all over the place , and have to be checked carefully . There were some batches a few years ago , with incorrectly machined adjuster screws , that eat a few push rod tips .

i've got the CB ones, i did a ton of research and never found a bad word about them.....i couldn't say that about the others, although have no experience of actually running them.

i use Scat rockers on almot every engine i build and have never had a problem. and i build a lot of engines.
the new ones with the scat in an oval almost always come out to 1.41 and sometimes 1.42
never more unless i have them on comp eliminator heads.

i have  had autocrafts break.
i have a set of the bugpack ones that they made a few years back with the big ribs down each side but havent used them yet.
i have used a few sets of the new (black) Cb rockers with no problems.
i usually buy the old scat ones when i see them, you never know when you might need some 1.55 rockers.

i would go with the scat or the Cb rockers they are both good.
they are bushed instead of roller bearing and that is a big plus in my book.

Is it worth the effort of installing them ? I really don't want to take my engine apart this winter just to change my (Small) Web Cam # 218, Duration 280, Valve Lift .455, Lobe Center 108.
If i would go for different rockers, could anybody give advice on ratio pls ? Also, do i have to set up my valve geometry again and make new pushrods ? Thanks.

(Engine is 2165, 044's, 8.7:1)

I wouldn't, personally, put ratio rockers on that cam. It is a rampy mother as it is. I used that cam in my ex's 1776, runs good, not very hot-tempered. I'd stick with 1.1 rockers with that cam. If it was my engine, that size, I'd up the cam size, depending on heads, gears, carbs, etc. If it is the usual 42 x37, big bore carbs, etc....I'd go Engle 125 or 130 or FK45 or FK10
