About the only other club I recall being around when we got started were the Volkschargers which were based in Whittier, Ca.  About all I remember of them was that they used to hang out at the Bob's Big Boy on Whittier Blvd.  Back then, we Orange County types listened to the Beach Boys and lived the surf culture.  The Volkschargers and the Whittier area were considered to be low-riders and "greaser types."  We used to cruise Bob's on a regular basis back then looking for races with those boys.

Bob's was THEE PLACE back in the day...car hops, muscle cars, rods and cruisers.  Whittier Blvd was a sea of cool cars with guys and gals hanging out the windows, reved motors, illegal U turns, you name it.  Wish I'd had a movie camera back then...it was all good!  8) 8) 8)  I grew up in La Habra, John...I know all about those damn Whitter people!  ::) ;D
