Title: what were the differences between the "black" s/e heads and the aluminum ones? Post by: Jim Ratto on December 18, 2007, 21:10:43 pm the "old" street eliminator heads, from the 80's, SCS used to sell "black" heads I think they were sold as their competition eliminators. What was the difference?

The color! Seriously, When I had my aluminum SE heads, I compared them to "Big Frank's" Comp SE heads, and there was no difference in porting, valve seats, guides, etc. The combustion chamber was a bit shallower (can't remember if Frank cut them or not), but beyond the color to combat "competition" heat, I saw no difference.
