Post them here Post by: Zach Gomulka on December 21, 2007, 18:18:42 pm I love how IDA's look all hunkered down on a pair of shorties :)
Ive got a couple pair, waiting for the proper engine ::) Title: Re: Pictures of short-manifold 48IDA engines? Post them here Post by: ugly duckling on December 23, 2007, 02:57:28 am this was actualy bill s engine that i had bought from him a long block then i put that crappy pulley on it and thoses silly manifolds on it so i could have a ressiling match with the darn thing. they sure do look cool thoe all huging that fan shrowed and stuff.and did you say only oem styel short mani pictures oh well heres another go ahead and shoot me there still short in my book. Title: Re: Pictures of short-manifold 48IDA engines? Post them here Post by: peter - belgium on December 30, 2007, 21:50:46 pm here's my oval with short berg manifolds I did not know it was possible to use the Gene Berg Short manifolds with a wide cooling housing? I thought that you had to use the round fanshrouds?? This is actually good news since I wanted to use the 181fanshroud! Was this one modified to make it fit with the IDA's?? Title: Re: Pictures of short-manifold 48IDA engines? Post them here Post by: germanvador on December 30, 2007, 23:57:26 pm here's my oval with short berg manifolds hi axam48IDA......... your manifolds are not short, they are a GB590 ( 6 1/4" ), GB 587 is a short manifold ( 4 3/8") for IDA with only fan housing 36/40 HP!!!!!!!!! for my new motor 78x90.5 , i have the GB 590 manifolds, theses manifolds are the best for IDA,they are developped on the flow bench and dyno to provide the best air speed of the original " SKAT TRAK ". features equal length, curve and cc's on each port runner so that all the cylinder and ports work same. they are developped by gene and clyde BERG himself......... my fan should 181 " look rusty " Before........... (http://img80.imageshack.us/img80/5125/pices007awn0.jpg) After........ ;) ;D (http://img292.imageshack.us/img292/5093/3nov037hp9.jpg) (http://img292.imageshack.us/img292/8829/3nov042xu7.jpg) with my new steel screw I dont want cut the cylinder shroud because the manifold is too large..........i cut the manifold (http://img153.imageshack.us/img153/5475/3nov051zk9.jpg) (http://img247.imageshack.us/img247/1431/nezboite158un4.jpg) they are ported with my 043 head (http://img247.imageshack.us/img247/9648/cd82006atrier041bh6.jpg) happy new year the loungers................. ;D ;D Title: Re: Pictures of short-manifold 48IDA engines? Post them here Post by: peter - belgium on December 31, 2007, 11:03:52 am Is it still needed to cut the front right velocity stack with these GB 590 manifolds if you want the rear decklid to close as original?? Or are these low enough to clear the decklid properly?
Title: Re: Pictures of short-manifold 48IDA engines? Post them here Post by: germanvador on December 31, 2007, 11:55:40 am Normaly, you must be cut the velocity stack :-[
Title: Re: Pictures of short-manifold 48IDA engines? Post them here Post by: Bewitched666 on December 31, 2007, 11:57:25 am Whats the difference between the tall manifold and the short btw besides the length ???
Title: Re: Pictures of short-manifold 48IDA engines? Post them here Post by: Zach Gomulka on December 31, 2007, 19:15:09 pm I dont care what anyone says those GENE BERG manifolds are fucking ugly!
Title: Re: Pictures of short-manifold 48IDA engines? Post them here Post by: Donny B. on December 31, 2007, 19:43:37 pm Quote I dont care what anyone says those GENE BERG manifolds are fucking ugly! Yeah, but form follows function and those can be ported like crazy also you can mount the carb either way to suit your need. Another thing that a lot of folks forget is the the Berg manifolds really fit tight so when they are match ported they fit exactly the way they should. Many other manifolds need to be welded or bushed to achieve the same fit. Title: Re: Pictures of short-manifold 48IDA engines? Post them here Post by: Zach Gomulka on December 31, 2007, 20:04:53 pm Yeah, but form follows function As with all things Berg, no truer words have been spoken ;) |
