Frallan has sent me some more info on the car, and now the story seems even more correct...  no doubt will we update again later... but as of now, this was how it happened  ;D

I have an issue of the Swedish magaazine "Dragstrip" from the 70's where it is featured. A friend of mine has borrowed it but I wil try to get it back and scan it. It was from the "white" period.

Hi all

Thanks for all the pictures i got and the link of the video . I am very pleased for all infos i get about the car . It seems like this car never gets tired :-) , It is a race car since the 70's now and was raced nearly each year , with only some minor years of interruption . But please no replicar , the car is still alive . I think i can get it only a little faster while testing some engines but the weight of the car and suspension does not allow to make it much faster . May be some day i take a new race car and this little old car can get a smaller engine and his original colour :-) .

Udo, IF you have ideas to paint it original St Moritz Fashion, I might even chip in a contribution. Do IT!!
Do you have any idea how beautiful that paint was?
It was art. The depth and color coding, the graphics and the pearl in the sun was just something a picture will never show.
I was totally shocked when the guys top chopped it and let the paint go to "arts heaven". OK, it was all about getting it going faster but still.  Putting a grinder in to it must have felt like murder I imagine.
Now car was and is still cool.
For the time of  early eighties it was hightech and really well done.

It looked real nice in the original paint . The car came to germany in baby blue. But if you could see how i got it  >:( . It was very bad painted in black , the inside of the car i sandblasted to get the hand sprayed colour off . It was like a restoration for me to get a good new paint on it . At that time nobody knew something about the history , only that it came from sweden .... ! During the  years the car has got some history here in Germany since i own it . The main thing is that it is still alive and in good condition and in good hands :D

I didn't know snövit and St moritz was the same car.What an history this car have!!

The fibreglass bonnet in the picture from Snövit,is the one I have on my car now. :)

This cant be true Frallan, I have talked with plenty of Swedes about snow white and I have a pretty good idea of where the parts of Snow white is now.
Also Snow white wasn't roof chopped.

Hazze might have called both the two cars Snow White but they are definitely two different.
1: St Moritz : Chopped without sunroof.
2: The one most people talk about as THE Snow White. Unchopped ragtop.

Car #2 was sold by Hans Lindholm to a guy named Johan in the late 80's. I was offered to buy it in the mid 90's and I looked at it in a tent in Sodertalje. A friend of mine bought some parts from it and I got the aluminium dash. The dash hangs on my garage wall as a memorabilia.
Later a guy called Dick bought it and raced it until 1999 when he sold it to Finland according to rumors.

I got carried away and I do not know why.
Now in sober condition of my brain I very well recall Snowwhite and seeing the aluminium front end shock towers broken after the wheelie.
St Moritz was never called Snowhite. Neither by Hazze or anyone else.
Sorry about that.

In fact when I think a little bit more I think Hazze never drove St Moritz during his ownership.
Price I remember. It was SEK 12 000. Rolling chassi with a not so hot gearbox.

One more story on the name. When I had the car, it was called by the original name from the guys prior to St Moritz. Häcken Hugo.In english....junkie  (double meaning in Swedish, also bum) car Hugo.
I think first time when I saw the car in Malmö 1976 it was in fact orange primered and not so beautiful.

Edit, now when I re-read you blog JHU, it is almost all there. Well done.

It was fetured in the Swedish magazine "Dragstrip", chopped and in white. I have the magazine, but a friend borrowed it.
I hope to get it this weekend so I can scan it.

It was chopped by the original builders and owners.
Possibly the guy who had the link to the St Moritz fashion ski shop, had or pulled out in that region of time.
I am sober and it is early in the morning. Fact not fable......

And the badest thing was that the owner drove it with a 2,6 Type 4 engine . so there was no chance to go fast  :D

Hey guys , I m the "new" owner of the legend

For the moment there is a 1835cc engine with 48 IDA installed. Up to now not yet fine tuned, so the best actual best ET is 12,82 sec at Dasdragday 2015 in Bitburg.
But after a good burnout , some more experience and a fine tuned engine by Udo himself , my goal is to get it into the mid 11 sec.
My plan was to pass at his shop already months ago but as always the winter starts getting short and lots of work left ;)
But overall the car is ready to race, and that's what it was build for (way before i was born  ;D)

If anybody has some more pictures of the car from the old days , please let me know .

Hey Udo, thanks for the kind words  ;)
I just try to keep the spirit of the car alive and drive it as much as possible even if this is not always easy.
It s a very nice car to drive and one of the remaining historic cars of Europe.
Therefore I do not have any plans to give it away  ;) Maybe sooner or later stepping up engine wise to get closer to your 10.7 sec, but to be honest I would be more than happy to get it to the 11 seconds . All with type 1 engine of course  ;) When I first met Karin she briefed me pretty well on what to do to the car and what not , and I stick to this.
I got most of the pictures I guess, I just wanna have as much infos as possible about the car , you never know if one day you "need" a new paintjob . In that case there are only to options, either green as it is or ... guess what  ;D
Cant wait to get on the track again , and by the way :

I was more than happy that Laurent was driving the car when Karin pulled out to the start when she saw us coming down .  ;D But I think just for the fun and a nice picture we have to "race" next year against each other. Having your 2 cars together on the start lane would be a one of pic. But let me practice a little more before we do this :)

Can anybody get me some more pics and or infos from the car in its first St Moritz Fashion paint scheme.
If anybody has contact to the original owners / builders , I would be very thankful for any tips , pics contacts or what ever you can let me know about this paintjob.
Who did it ? What color was it ? Original VW or something own? Was the logo painted or stickers ?

Hey Udo, yes I know that there is an event but saturday I cannot attend for sure . We have a birthday party for my son that day .
Sunday I have to see if I can attend , depending from a couple things. Maybe I can drop by , but I guess you are right with a high 11 on a good day :)
I am getting more and more infos on the old pay scheme , I hope to get this done over the winter .
If I don t get it set up to come driving to King of the Hills , at least I will show up with some friends who are curious on drag racing and thinking about starting a project for next year.
So at least supporting the team of 1 on 1 Motorsport at Bitburg .

I still plan on to bring it back in its original Paintjob from the 70 s
I ve got some help already from some previous owners on getting ass much details about the paint the stickers and so on, but still there are plenty of unknown facts .
Most pictures are blurry and not easy to see details.
So here is another request from my side:
If anybody has any pictures somewhere which could help to get more details, please let me know.
If it would be possible to scan them , would be great

PB with the 1835 cc is 12,12 sec , this winter i skipped the plan on getting the paintjob done and decided to take care about some tech stuff.
Full engine rebuild with some minor mods to the carbs and mounting an alternator
Furthermore i took 6 kg out of the car .
Looking for every 1/10 of a second to get into the 11 sec.

THat's what a damn good looking race car!

On my first outing with St Moritz Fashion and the Pank engine, Stefan "Kocken" Allansson Farmshack BBQ Man, joined me.
He was EXTREMELY radical by shaving his head in VW logo manner. At least for being 1987.

Today that is nothing compared to the tattoos seen in many different places of the body nowadays. :-)

So Corona hits hard , and it looks like the drag racing season is done before it ever started .
Still working on several other stuff for the other cars but don t get this out of my mind to get the car back as it is supposed to be.

I emailed with a lot of involved persons getting a lot of great infos . Unfortunately a lot has changed since the 70 s regarding paints .
So Eric Lindgren the owner of the S:t Moritz concept and I came to the conclusion that a 1 on 1 paintjob would not be possible and also not correct due to the fact it was not chopped at the time .
Therefore he gave me the permission to change a couple of minor things and instead of trying to copy the old we would rather continue the story of S:t Moritz !
The car has lived ever since, changed colors engine and owners, but never stopped racing , never stopped being around .
Therefore i don t wanna skip all those years , i don t wanna revert the chop ( as some considered to me ) but rather opening a new chapter in the story of one of the most known european gasser .

Therefore i would like to get some infos from those who are specialists in paint.
The murando pearl white does not exist anymore today , it was changing from white to a slight gold depending on the sunlight .
If anybody could hit me up with some modern paints still reflecting this style of paint ? I will most probably try a couple of samples to make sure it suits my personal demands .
And if not know ? When then ? I guess we will not get any more time than nowadays for a very long time ;)

Murano Pearl can be made similar.
A base pearl and then a layer of clear with gold dust in it.
NOT flakes but the real dust kind. Not easy to find but I am sure it does exist.

Why do I know this? I am no painter.
Well, because my painter (Gösta Grubb "Onaneramera Customlack") on my old 1978 VW dragster did just that on the roll cage and few other tubes. In the garage, it would not be visible but with sunlight, the gold dust would reflect very nicely.
The trick is two fold but could of course be practiced on small pieces prior to doing a car. Real dust, not even small flakes are good enough. Second, just one thin layer to get that sublime feeling and touch to it.

Thanks a lot , indeed this might work out , never really thought about this , but did some similar paintjob myself to the mini dragbug of my son.
Used some tiny flakes there but the principle was the same .
I still got some fenders and stuff laying around here .
Will give it a try on those to see if i can manage something like this .
