Title: hot VW's in Hot Rod, Pop HR and Car Craft.....cruising spots of the golden era
Post by: SOB/RFH on September 13, 2006, 21:23:03 pm
Pop HR had a lot of features in the 70 but Hot Rod and Car Craft were more "Chevy/Fors/Mopar) style.......So anyone remember Pat Ganahls "The Californa Look" feature in, was it august 81......and the input afterwards......like every V8 owner hated the V-dubs way back then. Having read the "hot cruise spot stories" I notice that not any of them, as I know it, showed V-dubs.......so for us that only has the availible info via old, smelling printed mags from way back then........How was it? Was it only V8's and the rest did not get a place in the parking lot? I can see segregation between makers of cars and interests but, I migh be wrong. So if you were part of it......please fill in! I was allways the outsider with a V-dub lowered in the front and as mouch HP that I could afford (not too mouch) but my friends accepted it but that was not the case at the race track or cruising spots!!
