Just wondering , kept looking at it when it was for sale a while back but wasnt sure who got it in the end ?

I've no idea Rob, but has anyone got any history on it? I've never seen it in any old pictures, only in magazines from the last few (10-12!) years, first one being in Volksworld at a VW Classic in the mid-late '90's. :)

Yeah it never seams to get any recognition , i know it was fully ally pannel in side and featured a centre steering with the shifter between your legs !!! OUCH a miss shift could land you with more than a bad time :)

there isn't stickers from the past of any race like winternationals , ocir etc.... why ??? may be isn't a US car, mexican one  who know ??? watch on the windows it written watson santos

all the info i had read was it was built in the 70s but never saw much track action. But words can be made up so with out proof its s shame that it could just be a good rep..

its the same car as the photos, look at the first picture from the side. ive seen this car in the flesh a few years back very cool and inspiring. cheers dean

Talked with my dad to see what he remembered about this car it was built in the early 70s and only raced until 75/76
this car replaced a meyers manx they ran inthe late 60s called BossFrog when the sedan was ready they stripped the
drivetrain,running gear,and race parts (the guts)from the frog ,hence the name
The car was built in Hanford CA by the owner of j&t motors the car was raced mostly in Bakersfield/Fomosa
and also in Fresno and Raisin City.He remembers the best time 11.26 at 118MPH
the car was  sold after several years of storage by the original owner in 1986

I am the son in law Of Tim Goodrich who  was the builder of Frog Guts and raced it.  If you google search his name you will see who he is in the auto restoration world .... mostly renowned for Porsche restoration. The car was purchased by a gentleman who has done a lot of business with Tim over the years. This purchase was made just recently and the car was shipped back to Tim for restoration..... 41 years later. Lots to the story but you get it. Cosmic if you ask me. I'll try to send a current photo when I can if anyone is interested.

Yes the car has been sent back to the states (home) to be reunited with Tim, a truly fantastic story that this car travels from CA to Scotland, then on to Belgium to be raced again, re-purchased via Houston and shipped back via Southampton to CA and then up to Oregon as a present....

what's better it will now sit next to Tim's beach buggy which when he raced it against the original IP1 with Dean driving he beat it......... truly an amazing and true story.

This is why VW Gasser Garage brings gassers back to life (or to the track), so we can all enjoy and find out more about them.
