when I worked at Small Car (SCS) They always pulled the seats out before welding the Heads they use to have a Big Oven I think they heated them up to either 500 or 750 before welding then let them cool in the oven after welding  I would Check with a Good Head Porter?

hello. i prefurr 450deg. 4043 alloy is the norm to use. in some instunses 5356 alloy only in the chamber area. i would say 4043 on anything on the 044 head. hopefully you wont get any snap crakkel pop when they cool down. put a heat blanket or back in the oven let cool down slow. and cross your fingers. good luck to ya .  UD.

Cheers Richie , they need four welds in each intake chamber where some muppet took too material out of them in some ham fisted attempt to port them   >:(, all was ok till we started to machine them for duel springs and found the machining for the inlet valve breached the inlet chamber  ::)

Mucho tea bags to follow  ;D
