(i think the same as tessa's) Title: Re: Ideal place for a talbot mirror... Post by: maX cal-look on September 20, 2006, 06:47:56 am Just for your understanding ...
I will put a OBUS not Talbot, like 67's Xav ! ;) I will take some pictures ... ;) Title: Re: Ideal place for a talbot mirror... Post by: Turtle001 on September 20, 2006, 08:04:21 am hey Max -- on xav's ride you'll find an early talbot (just like mine) check picture
ps. i think OBUS is not a brand but a name refairs to the model -- like BULLIT mirrors -- 'cause the shape reminds a bullit or for the frenchies an obus Title: Re: Ideal place for a talbot mirror... Post by: Georg/DFL on September 22, 2006, 17:03:16 pm Hi Turtle,
Jelle said it already: I dosn't matter where you mount it you are not seeing anything! So in the end place it where it looks good! :) I have one on my Ghia and I know what I am talking about! ;) Cheers, Georg Title: Re: Ideal place for a talbot mirror... Post by: Diederick/DVK on October 05, 2006, 23:28:40 pm Are you gonna sell it?
Title: Re: Ideal place for a talbot mirror... Post by: flatfire on October 05, 2006, 23:32:09 pm Are you gonna sell it? Thats a good question, one that I haven't considered. I don't even know how much its worth. Title: Re: Ideal place for a talbot mirror... Post by: Gregor/DFL on October 06, 2006, 10:00:20 am Hi!
Hereīs an image of the mounting position of my Talbot. There are lots of different versions of Talbots around, and in my opinion only a few are suitable for bugs due to their size. Many of them are simply too large for a tiny bug door ;) Title: Re: Ideal place for a talbot mirror... Post by: Diederick/DVK on October 06, 2006, 15:59:01 pm i think yours looks fabulous gregor, i would love to find one like yours!!
Title: Re: Ideal place for a talbot mirror... Post by: Gregor/DFL on October 06, 2006, 16:24:55 pm thanks.
I think the mirror that was shown by flatfire in one of the later postings (the wrinkle-painted one) seems to have nearly the same shape and size including the adjustable foot like mine. I donīt know if the black one is a good copy of the one I have or if it is an original "Talbot" Mirror...By the possibility of adjusting the housing of the mirror as well as the angle of the glass it is even possible to see cars behind you with this model-could be important in case of cops rolling behind you ;) Title: Re: Ideal place for a talbot mirror... Post by: Jesse/DVK on October 08, 2006, 12:06:06 pm While I was reading this topic I thought by myself wait, I got such a mirror lying here in the garage. I asked my dad about it, he says it's from the 60's/70's. I looks like the mirrors from this topic. Is Talbot a brand or a type of mirrors? On my mirror is a small stickers which says: ''Acero Inox Reguvis Patentado'' What do you think about it?
Title: Re: Ideal place for a talbot mirror... Post by: Turtle001 on October 08, 2006, 12:11:00 pm hi jesse -- talbot is a brand - made in berlin, germany -- but people use the name for a certain type of mirrors also
ps nice mirror by tha way Title: Re: Ideal place for a talbot mirror... Post by: Jon on October 09, 2006, 13:35:32 pm Sweet... newer seen a thermometer in the mirror....
