Title: Re: VolksWorld Show Post by: Jordy/DVK on March 15, 2006, 09:32:49 am I don't think I'm going. My bug failed the annual road test (MOT, TüV, Bilprovningen, APK, etc.) so I don't have a car.
I have never been there before and it seems like an awesome show to visit so for those who are going: (http://www.planet-smilies.de/tanzen/tanzen_010.gif)HAVE FUN! secound floor is the floor with cars, third floor is the one with the KK swap meet. When you enter the show through the main entrance you're walking upstairs and then turn right and right again and you are in a pub/coffee shop. Is that the one you meant? Cheers, Georg Title: Re: VolksWorld Show Post by: BeetleBug on March 20, 2006, 10:10:53 am Hi Beetlebug, secound floor is the floor with cars, third floor is the one with the KK swap meet. Title: Re: VolksWorld Show Post by: Georg/DFL on March 21, 2006, 10:56:12 am Hi Pekka,
we will have our regular Cal Look dinner on saturday. It startet out as a small get together around five years ago with some DAS, DFL and Bahnstromerz-members, Pal Rui, Mike Ishiko from Japan and Serge Le Flohic from France. Meanwhile we have more than 30 Cal Look fans participating from all over the world. If you want to join us let me know because space is limited. We meet up in the Fairmile on Portsmouth Road in Cobham, around 5 min away by car from Sandown park. Sunday used to be the "The-Bear-Inn-Day" when they had sunday dinner. Last year they didn't, so we went to the Mexican Restaurant close by. Usualy all the "foreigners" meet there, like the Germans, the Scottish, the Norwegians and so on – everybody who stays up until monday. But that's only what we do – there are many other nice get togethers of course! Cheers, Georg Title: Re: VolksWorld Show Post by: jose del orto on March 31, 2006, 09:47:44 am Only few hours left.... as we are a pretty big group flying from Geneva to Gatwick on Saturday morning we managed to get an Airbus from Easyjet with lowered front beam, light chopped top, orange metal flake paint and a set of 50 48IDA carbs for each engine, in order to take off quicker. Unfortunately we had to give up trying to put some original BRM's on it, after the second set had broken under the slightly too high machine-weight!
I can't wait anymore, it will be a funny weekend! Title: Re: VolksWorld Show Post by: speedwell on March 31, 2006, 14:15:52 pm :D :D :D :D and don't forget to post pict at your return

5 sites of eye candy from the greatest VW-Show I´ve ever participated! :o enjoy! http://olaf.nhz.de/gallery/vws2006 Title: Re: VolksWorld Show Post by: Jon on April 04, 2006, 09:51:39 am Let's see your favorits from the show! Here's one of mine!!
Check out the generator, the "hiding" of the Monster tack, and the perfect position of the wheels.... and decromed! And no fatboy in sight... unfortunatly some of us need them. This version of the cal-look is something we will see more of I think. Who owns this car? Title: Re: VolksWorld Show Post by: Jon on April 04, 2006, 09:52:10 am Nice steering wheel!
Title: Re: VolksWorld Show Post by: Jon on April 04, 2006, 09:52:40 am Dual Thunderbird...
Title: Re: VolksWorld Show Post by: FUSENTASTEN on April 04, 2006, 11:10:47 am ÅFF TÅPPIC!!!
JHU....could you compare the 2 wheels and tell me what kind of wheel they are...? My centercap is custom-made in wood and an original "wolfsburg horn-button..... Don´t know the brand of the wheel....mine is bolt on in my Square....!! Help me out...? Title: Re: VolksWorld Show Post by: Jon on April 04, 2006, 11:12:42 am Early Porsche 912/911 I guess...
Title: Re: VolksWorld Show Post by: BeetleBug on April 04, 2006, 12:41:03 pm That was one of my favourites as well JHU... one question, how will that tiny winy exhaust effect the engine? Yes, I do know that bigger is not always better but this exhaust looks a bit "astmatic" if you know what I mean.
Title: Re: VolksWorld Show Post by: Luftkraft on April 04, 2006, 12:53:46 pm The black '67 was one of my favourites, too! :) I especially liked the look of the Fuchs wheels, and the general understated no-bling-bling attitude of the car. A perfect cal looker in my opinion. Painted headlight rings would fit nicely.
Another picture, same car (http://www.luftkraft.ch/vowo06_black67.jpg) Title: Re: VolksWorld Show Post by: Rabben on April 04, 2006, 13:49:07 pm ...how will that tiny winy exhaust effect the engine? Hey, I'm using the same exhaust and it's not that tiny >:( Lovely car by the way ;D Title: Re: VolksWorld Show Post by: SilverPig on April 04, 2006, 15:22:38 pm Holy testicle tuesday!! :o That black '67 would have been my favourite too...if I would have been there. Sadly I wasn't...but it still is one of the sexiest lookers I have ever seen!!
Title: Re: VolksWorld Show Post by: Jon on April 04, 2006, 15:49:35 pm Here's another of my favorites.... this one MOVES! And the the owner Paul Bate was a super friendly guy, no secrets! Nice talking to you Paul! And what a clean car! Form and function!
Title: Re: VolksWorld Show Post by: Tobi/DFL on April 05, 2006, 08:57:11 am The black one in fact is one of the greatest "classic" lookers `ve seen in a while...everything on it fits! :)
Concerning the exhaust: I have a 1 5/8" header with merged dual quiets on my oval (2176ccm type 1) as well and it doesn´t really feel underpowered. Maybe it would make some more horses with bigger tubes...I don´t know yet?! Title: Re: VolksWorld Show Post by: Pekka on April 05, 2006, 22:30:03 pm My favourite cars would be these 2 ovals:
(http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f152/fastghia/blueoval.jpg) (http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f152/fastghia/greenoval.jpg) Both of them proper hardcore. Amen Title: Re: VolksWorld Show Post by: BABOON on April 05, 2006, 23:24:16 pm The black one in fact is one of the greatest "classic" lookers `ve seen in a while...everything on it fits! :) Concerning the exhaust: I have a 1 5/8" header with merged dual quiets on my oval (2176ccm type 1) as well and it doesn´t really feel underpowered. If i remember correctly, Gene Berg sold merged dual mufflers that was good enough for high powered engines up to 200 horses. There are not that many engines out there, that have true horsepower, over the 200 mark. I guess the dual mufflers sold at CB Performance today, have the same design and size, as what was sold at Berg Ent. This version of the cal-look is something we will see more of I think. Who owns this car? This is Alex Taylor's 67 from the UK, a JG54 Grunherz club car. Alex has been working on this car for the last 3 years and it looks awesome! A very clean, subtle ride. Running a 2276 IDA motor and anodized Fuchs work a treat. |
