Title: Re: 914 seats Post by: Glauco on February 07, 2008, 11:08:24 am I think it would look great with or without the headrest, just think what would go best with the rest of the car..
Title: Re: 914 seats Post by: henk on February 07, 2008, 12:23:43 pm i bought them with the idea to cut the headrests off but i have seen a few with the headrests on and they look good as well ???
Title: Re: 914 seats Post by: Diederick/DVK on February 07, 2008, 12:29:45 pm i've got them as well, and i'm thinking of leaving the headrests on ;D
Title: Re: 914 seats Post by: javabug on February 07, 2008, 13:56:26 pm They would be great if you could work up a headrest that isn't integrated. Is there enough frame at the top to bolt a polished stainless or aluminum "loop" with a matching upholstered pad to it?

Title: Re: 914 seats Post by: Zach Gomulka on January 24, 2009, 21:35:17 pm Any more pics of these seats in VW's? Has anyone modified them to run on stock VW tracks?
Title: Re: 914 seats Post by: vwxtc4free on January 25, 2009, 03:20:54 am Mine are mounted with a peice of angled steel welded to stock seat frame at the proper angle for the seat back. This is a pic before a polished peice of angled aluminum was mounted between seat and frame to cover the top of the seat frame.I'll see if I can find an after pic.
Title: Re: 914 seats Post by: Tobi/DFL on January 25, 2009, 10:34:04 am Hi,
I welded a piece of steel all around the original seat frames to sit a little higher in the car. First is a pic of the modified seat frame inside the car and a seat that was already testmounted on the driverīs side. Second pic shows my seats mounted on the painted seat frame. Third pic shows my friend Christian/DFLīs old interior which has a way better looking upholstery right now. He uses modified VW seat frames, too. 4th pic shows my seats installed in the car. Bye, Tobi Title: Re: 914 seats Post by: Zach Gomulka on January 25, 2009, 20:55:23 pm That is precisely what I was looking for :) And they look sooooo much better with the headrests lopped off!!!

hope i won't forget to get it out for pics, but do a search on the porsche mechanism. i've had a look at that one in a proper 914. looks nifty, but our floorpan is a whole lot lower from the seat. Title: Re: 914 seats Post by: vwxtc4free on January 31, 2009, 18:02:22 pm Heres mine
