Title: thoughts about Solvang Caravan 2008... Post by: Jim Ratto on February 07, 2008, 17:41:48 pm A few months back I posted some thoughts about organizing a nice drive from my place in Simi Valley, through the country, up to the Solvang VW show this October. It's still a thought that hopefully will materialize, if everything is going smoothly come late summer and early autumn. I drove a good portion of the proposed route the other day, and the roads are ideal for some nice cruising, no matter motor cc. It's roughly a 120 mile drive, almost all two-lane rural roads, through the small towns of Filmore, Santa Paula, Ojai and Montecito.
So my questions are, first does anybody know date of the show in Solvang? Second are you guys interested in a cruise like this, maybe leaving my place around 6:30am or so? Anybody? In any case I would be in. I can't promise I'll have a car together but if I don't I can offer the Jeep as a support vehicle.
