Welcome to the Lounge, Andy.

I'm guessing you and/or your car were at the book signing, yesterday, yes?

Nice car, by the way.

Personally, I thought they were/are a nice touch. My Java Green European model '66 Sedan had 'em, too. So I guess I'm a little biased. HAHA!! But on Andy's car, they fit the look and era rather nicely. To each their own, I guess. The back housings are painted to match the body paint, as well.

I hope to always have this 1955 VW. I like this site! Been away from VW's for a while, the vintage guys kind of wrecked it for me. I put the fog lights, the Dehne fuel gauge, Kienzle ash tray clock and Petri steering wheel in my car during the period when I was getting rid of all my VW parts. I thought I would regret selling those pieces. I was looking at the car Saturday morning, right after I took the optima battery and ground cable out my  Bugeye Sprite to make it to Autobooks and I almost removed the fog lights. They have been on it for quite some time but they may be taken off soon. I should probably change the oil first. Nice to be in a happy VW place!

Dude, if you like the lights leave them. That is one of the great things about this site. We may all have different opinions on what a proper cal-look car may be, but we can all appreciate a kick ass car like yours.

My Dad has a Frogeye too. He's owned it since 1968, but it's been off the road since 1989... And since 1995 I've been bringing home stray VWs for him to weld up so not much progress! Any pics of yours? :)
