The Cal-look Lounge

Hi,

the DFL VW Club will organize their annual DFL May Cruise Madness the evening before the May 1st-Show (called "Maikäfertreffen", the largest aircooled show in Germany) in Hannover, Germany, this year again. It will take place at the Mel´s Diner in Hannover-Laatzen, a very nice Diner with even nicer waitresses! ;-)
Up to 500 cars attended the past cruise nights, so it´s realy worth a visit!

We are looking forward to see some loungers there! Just send us an email, if you need some directions or other infos!

hi, here´s a direction to the maikäfertreffen i hope this helps you. mels diner(where the cruise night takes place) is near the fairground, about 5 minutes.

great to be able to welcome you at Mel´s! Will you be there with your beetle? Will there be more greenhearts cars in attendance?
The DFL should be there in full force (sure... ;) ) and I´m sure you won´t be dissapointed if the weather should be okay.

i'm too busy to plan anything at the moment, luckily that'll be over by next week!

I hope to be able to see you and Tollst with your Lowlight in Hannover!

Many of our own club cars aren´t ready yet BUT everybody is working hard to get everything finished for the cruise night.
My own car is  now nearly finished and today´s first test drive after 7 months was a great experience. :D

Hey guys! Just got home. I had a great time. The Mai Käfer treffen is really a cool show with a huge swapmeet to boot, there were some very neat cars there. The cruise night at Mel's was really busy as well, to bad the rain cut the evening short though.. At least it meant I could catch up on some much needed sleep.. Thanks to all the DFL guys, the two brave Swiss guys, Kobus and everyone else I met. It was great seeing you all again!!  Glad you persuaded me to take the trip down there Kreutzi  ;)

BTW: Did mullets never really go out of fashion in Germany?  Just wondering... :D

Hi everybody,

thanks alot for joining us at the 6th DFL May Cruise Mdaness. Too bad that the police closed the road to the diner in the evening but we still had some fun and were very happy to meet many loungers from the Netherlands, the UK, Belgium etc.!
BTW: as we are celebrating the club´s 10th aniversary we decided to hand out a trophy for "The Car Of The Night" (DFL choice) which was handed out to a fellow lounger! So congrats Mario/DKT - your brown/black Lowlight is great! :P

The DFL stayed one more night in Hannover to take some pictures of the club cars on friday. It was the first time that we managed to get all cars together as we are located all over germany and the netherlands (Dokke), so expect some updates on our website very soon! ;)

for me hannover was one of the greatest events ever, because of two main reasons:
first of all i finally got my car on the road after 2 1/2 years of ups and downs during full restauration. and it did the approximately 600 km without any problems!
AND i got voted into the dfl club! i feel really honoured and wanted to thank every single member of the club!

it's 65 standart ???  no chrome trims inside the rubber , and the steering wheel model is a old one for big steering columm

Correct, Fabian, it's a Standard. Chassis is already restored to a very high standard, engine an gearbox as well  ;D

and if i'm correct the 65 standard model were only red or white color

nope i was not there... i was with the family. i had to look after my son and my wife was workng double jobs to make an animation film.
but it looks like i missed an good meeting. but i will collect my tshirt later  ;) as well as the catching up.
