Title: KAwell turbo setup...
Post by: jyri eramaa on February 21, 2008, 18:44:33 pm
i compared the hole to the turbo (at the exhaust side), and the collector of the header, and there is a huge difference in the diameter...
i took some material off, and radiused that area, (and theres still things to do)...but does this (difference in the ports) really make a difference in racing(http://www.volkkaripalsta.com/keskustelu/album_pic.php?pic_id=646) ?

hat do you turbo guys think? was this the way "they" used to make them in the eighties?

Yes, I would think it is the thought about breaking up rotational radial flow in to turbulent flow.
If and how it works efficeiantly or not, do not know but I recall about this practice.
Now this huge difference is much more than I thought would be "normal".

Dave and Judy are still around, shoot them a mail if you think this is their original design.
They have a cool website too that I saw some time ago.

Cool with a Kawel system, even if it is old.
I have always admired how well they work.
