Title: Engine/transmission monunts - which ones?

The background is like this:
'66 bug, daily driven.
Engine - mild 1914, but I think about upgrading it with bigger carbs, cam, compression etc for the next season.
I want to avoid wheel hop, but on the other hand - don't want to use solid mounts. That means - compromise. I hate that word.
I was thinking of reinforcing the frame horns (either similar to the way a CSP bar works, or a reinforcement between rear inner wheel walls on the baggage compartment floor and same struts from there down to frame horns) and adding a mid mount, but the problem is I don't know what kind of rubber to use between gearbox and horns.
Some people like urethane, some don't. And there is more then one manufacturer of  urethane mounts. A lot of people say: good quality, or heavy duty rubber mounts. But what does it mean? The shops here have only one kind. And I'm not sure whether it's up to the job.
I need something that I can buy, so something from BBT or Jopex/JGP catalogue, because those are the major sources for local VW shops. There should not be a problem with ordering something from CSP for example. But American shops are out of the question. 
Oh, I was thinking about adding a traction bar, too.
Still, the main question is: what make of rubber/urethane mounts to use?
